|Scope & Content||The ANACORTES AMERICAN January 2, 1991, edition reported on the winter storm of Friday, December 28, 1990. With winds reported at up to 100 miles per hour and temperatures at minus 30 degrees, severe damage was done to trees and power lines in the city. The totem pole carved by Paul Luvera and donated to the city was among the casualties at Washington Park; the park was closed until damage could be cleared and losses assessed. [Later information determined the totem pole actually fell on December 18, 1990.]|
