Scope & Content This receipt book, c. 1927-1937, was used by the Central Furniture Company. Located at 1009 5th Street, Richard H. Dildine was the proprietor. The front cover reads, "Palatine Insurance Co. Ltd., of London. There are paper scraps with math on page 21, a color picture of a boy selling a puppy to a man with a pipe on page 31, another math figure scrap of paper on page 35, a blank check on the Bank of Commerce of Anacortes on page 36, a math problem on the back of a R. H. Dildine receipt, an advertisement for a Sunny Heat Wood Circulator on page 39, adding machine tapes on page 40, a math problem on the back of a R. H. Dildine receipt on page 61, addition on two scrap papers on page 68, addition on a scrap paper on 73 and page 86, and blank pages 88-101. Records were kept on what was bought and how it was paid for - by cash, trade, or credit during these years of the Great Depression.
