|Scope & Content||This ledger book was used for information on Puget Fisheries. In it are pasted original documents, including: 1) Articles of Incorporation, July 8, 1933; 2) receipt for $40.00 to pay for filing these Articles of Incorporation. 3) type-written on parchment paper and glued onto page of book are the By-Laws of the Puget Fisheries--10 pages. 4) State of Washington-Department of State--Corporation License issued to Puget Fisheries, Thos. Smith, Mt. Vernon, Wash. [NOTE: Mr. Smith was the Notary Public for all this transaction]. 5) Stock Subscription List, dated the first day of July, 1933. Signed by L. L. Brotherton (76 shares), J. M. Seaman (25 shares), Mrs. L L. Brotherton (one share), Will A. Lowman (ten shares), City Dock Co, by Will A. Lowman, Manager (78 shares) and Ray B. Lowman (ten shares). 6) Election of officers and Oath of Office. 7) minutes of the meeting that the above papers were done and accepted. Secretary-John M. Seaman; Chairman, L. L. Brotherton. The next page is 8) minutes of a special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Puget Fisheries, July 17, 1933. 9) Minutes of a meeting of the Board of Trustees of Puget Fisheries, June 4, 1934. 10-12) Resignations from all parties to enable changing of officers. 13) A page titled: Puget Fisheries Financial Statement, March 31, 1934, showing a profit of $489.92. 14) This page is on a letterhead of Puget Fisheries of minutes (July 2, 1934) to ratify a contract for the sale of 1,000 cases of 1/2 pound Sockeye salmon. Item 15 in this book is the 5-page Executory contract of Sale mentioned in item 14 above. 16) a written declaration from Will A. Lowman that the aforementioned contract was paid for in advance. 17) the minutes of a meeting of the Board of Directors of Puget Fisheries (4 pages) dated July 11, 1934. That is all that is pasted into this book. The rest of the lined pages are blank.|
