Object Name Pamphlet
Scope & Content The 1947 state legislature changed the state general election ballot so that voting a "straight ticket" became harder. Each individual now had to have an "X" beside the name chosen, and the voting machine required pulling a lever for each chosen candidate. This pamphlet was created prior to the November 2, 1948, election by the citizens' registration committee with the cooperation of Secretary of State Earl Coe in order to inform voters of the new procedures. It also listed state and national candidates as well as initiatives, referendums, and proposed constitutional changes.
