|Scope & Content||On November 28, 1984, the ANACORTES AMERICAN ran an article recapping the life of Paul Luvera, Sr. from his birth in Calabria, Italy, immigration to Alberta, Canada (where he worked in a coal mine), founding the grocery store in 1922 in Anacortes, activities in civic groups, becoming a state senator, being the proud father of three achieving offspring, carving totem poles, and publishing a book on carving and painting totem poles.|
