Scope & Content Oil painting of the VINDICATOR (good condition); removed from wood frame May 10, 2007. Frame stored. The VINDICATOR was a mine sweeper owned by Bill Lowman in the late 1940s-1950s. She was converted first for tuna fishing, and eventually for hauling freight to canneries in Alaska. The VINDICATOR sank on St. Elias Reef, Alaska, about 1955-1956. All the crew was saved but the cargo was lost.
