Article one is titled: Anacortes Boat Lost Off Coast. The boat in flames and sinking was the fishing boat CAPRICE shown as it went down off St. Lazaria Island, 12 miles north of Sitka, Alaska, Wednesday , June 26, 1940.
Article two and three is dated Thursday, May 9, 1940. Highlighted is O.E. Chambers, ship builder of EVELYN C. of Anacortes. The EVELYN C. was a 42' fishing boat used to trawl for sole and cod, and could quickly be converted into a halibut schooner.
The fourth article is headlined: 200 Fishing Boats Taken Over by U. S. The article cites Japan with the most violations.
