Paul Luvera, Sr., created a totem pole for the Port of Seattle which was sent to Seattle's sister city, Rotterdam. The ANACORTES AMERICAN edition of August 25, 1982, carried the story as the totem pole was transferred to Seattle. NBC filmed the local unveiling of the totem pole. "The $5000 estimated cost of the pole was donated to the Seattle port by George Weyerhauser, who also donated the square cedar log."
Included in this donation were two typed pages of the article, but the third page was missing. The newspaper was scanned and is recorded as page 3.
