Front page of this issue is: Vol. 2, No. 9, Anacortes, Washington, June 14, 1917, main headline reads, "Shipyard Work is Now Under Way; Seeley Scores Signal success With Inter-National Packing Company, other column headlines are Men, Tool and Money, A Letter to the Folks, Cannery to Operate other small tid-bits are, "Mrs. J. M. Bunch and daughter, Miss Elenora Pitula, were shopping in Anacortes the first of the week" also, "Mrs. C. C. Keesling, children and son E. R. Andrews, one of Washington's soldier boys, were pleasant callers at the Beachcomber office Tuesday."

"Mrs. Frank Magill entertained a number of lady friends from Anacortes, Saturday", "Frank Causland was doing some trading and attending to business matters in the city of Anacortes, Saturday." "Grandma Wooten was doing some trading in town Monday afternoon." "Grandma Mary Blackinton, who has been suffering from Asthma, is still kept close to her home but is some better."
