Oregon Improvement Company map of the City of Anacortes, Skagit County, Washington. Presented by the Land Department, E. H. Morrison, General Land Agent. A. Anderson & Company Lith., Portland, Oregon. Propaganda descriptions of Puget Sound, Fidalgo Island, and The City of Anacortes. The company was promoting Anacortes as the terminus of a transcontinental railroad which would cross the Cascades farther north than Stevens Pass; this would lead to the creation of Anacortes as a logical trans-Pacific Ocean port terminal.

It is also stamped, "For Further Information, apply to Hogan and Hagan, Local Land Agents, Oregon Improvement Co., Anacortes, Wash."
The streets and avenues are 80 feet wide. Alleys are 16 feet wide. Lots are 30 x 100 feet. Blocks are 216 x 300 feet. Railroad Avenue is 100 feet.
