Phyllis Luvera Ennes wrote this memorandum of conversation to Mary Babarovich Luvera, Anita Luvera Mayer, and Paul Luvera, Jr. following a lunch with Chamber of Commerce members President Mel Farnsworth, Executive Director Melanie Siefferman, and member Bud Strom.
The Chamber was planning to build at 9th and Commercial and the proposed to name it the Luvera Building or the Luvera Complex. The committee was delighted that Luvera had proposed to give them a totem pole. They also hoped the family could provide memorabilia suitable for a wall display. Note: the Anacortes Museum curated the wall that was eventually displayed.
The committee "invited the Luvera Estate to contribute to the building program. They made clear the plans outlined above are NOT contingent on our contributing."
On another matter, Phyllis told of her plans for the grave marker -- brass with a graphic design to be done by Anacortes Brassworks.
"By the way, we owe a debt of gratitude to Bud Strom. It was his eulogy for Dad at the Chamber meeting the week of Dad's funeral that put all this in motion."
