Barbara Millentenberger Funk, 1865-1947, pushing her newborn daughter, Louise, in a baby carriage on 5th Street. Louise was born 8-8-1903. Born in Foulbach, Bavaria, Barbara immigrated to the U.S. in 1880. She married Valentine Funk in Crawford, Kansas, in 1884 and moved to Anacortes in late 1890. She was an Anacortes businesswoman, mother of Wallie Funk [Sr.] and Louise, and grandmother of Wallie V. Funk [Jr}, Jim Funk, Charlie Funk, Walter Mackin, and Marilyn Mackin.

Wallie V. Funk [Jr] is in the center of this photograph,flanked by his younger brothers Charlie (left) and Jim (right). They are pictured at the Anacortes High School Parent Teacher Association (P.T.A.) basketball jamboree. All three of the Funk brothers were yell leaders (rally squad) in high school and they are each pictured wearing their yell leader attire from their school days. Between the three Funk brothers, Wallie stated, "A Funk was a cheerleader for nine straight years" at Anacortes High (A.H.S.).
