1/2 metal business sign off the building of H. L. Trulson [Herman L. Trulson], Anacortes, Washington, Sherwin-Williams Paint and Varnish. 1912-1917 Trulson & Haugen, (Herman Lauritz Trulson and Edmund E. Haugen) owned a paint store: "paints, oils, glass, wallpaper, pictures, etc., undertakers". In 1917 Trulson and Haugen went their separate ways, Trulson Paints and Haugen, Undertaker. In 1920 Trulson moved cars into the showroom of his paint store which became Trulson Motors, which in 1921 - 1922 was located at 1004 Commercial Avenue. This dates this sign as between 1917 and 1920.

Frank Watkinson married Marian Childs, daughter of Dr. Thomas Bromley Childs. He served with the 307th Division during World War I, and had his picture (circled) included in this photo of "Sec. A 1st C. F.O.T.D. Camp A.A. Humphreys VA.Jan.1919." He ran the Tire Surgery, first at 6th and Q from 1920-1925, then at 8th and Commercial in 1925, and at 1102 Commercial in 1938. He lived at 1819 8th Street in the house build by Dr. Childs after Childs left it.
