Surveyor's hardbound book 1893. Belonged to Harrison Barber, and included various recipes from people in the front of the book. These recipes were torn out and mailed to the donor at her request. The book is titled "TRANSIT" with the name W.H. & Co., Seattle Washington printed across the bottom of the 4.75" x 7.75" book. Pages 47-82 are blank. On pages 83-100 a variety of surveys are drawn in pencil with labeling of bearings, landmarks, and last names. Drawings are technical and precise.

Sanborn map #8 of Anacortes extended from 3rd Street to 6th Street and from O Avenue to R Avenue. Published in November 1907, this 9 square block area has a surprising amount of undeveloped area. The main businesses are along Commercial Avenue and include multiple drug, meat, cigar, barber, and hardware stores. The Hotel Vendome at 6th and Commercial had several stores at street level. The Dancing Pavilion occupied part of the area where City Hall is in 2015. The Fry McMillan Block and the Semar Block are noted between 5th and 6th on Q Avenue. The Presbyterian Church was on the northeast corner of 5th and R.
