Bernice Schneider and Howard Nicholson were married Feb. 8, 1940 in Anacortes. They received this crocheted bedspread from her mother Marie Schneider (later Dunning), who made it from string obtained from an Anacortes butcher shop. Six pointed star design, connected to create open circles. Pico edging in single crochet edge. Edge scalloped. The family moved to Anacortes from St. Paul, Minnesota, when Bernice was 5 years old.
