In December 1973 a prospectus was printed for the Depot Center to become a community arts complex. It was proposed that the building's three areas be used for different purposes. The north end could become an expanded art gallery which could also house the Anacortes Arts and Crafts Foundation permanent collection and provide space for touring shows. When closed, the Gallery could be used as classroom space for adult instruction in the arts. The central area could house railroad memorabilia. This prospectus of the Gold Coin Mining Company was printed in 1903 for mines in the Slate Creek Mining District, Whatcom County, Washington. Directors of the company from Anacortes include William V. Wells, and J.H. McCulloch. A.M. Barron, also of Anacortes, wrote a report for the prospectus.
