Material is semi-opaque; 4 ruffles at the bottom; front hem is shorter than the back hem probably for a bustle or a train. Over-skirt is 2010.009.042; bodice 2010.009.045 and sash is 2010.009.042.

Ivory colored over skirt from wedding ensemble worn by Emma Haugen (age 25c.) when she married Herman L. Trulson (age 25c.), c.1906. Material is translucent; 3 1"-wide bands at the bottom which are 3" apart; front hem is shorter than the back hem as a train. Eight artificial white flowers with yellow centers are attached to front of skirt in lower half. There are 2 eye (as in hook-and-eye) for the bodice to attach to the skirt. Slip is 2010.009.043; bodice 2010.009.045 and sash is 2010.009.042.

Ivory colored over bodice from wedding ensemble worn by Emma Haugen (age 25c.) when she married Herman L. Trulson (age 25c.), c.1906. Material is translucent; has a high neckline, with bodice having pin-tucking, lace and a large, full ruffle on top half of bodice. sleeves go to about the elbow, ending in a ruffle from 3" inside the arm to 7" on the outside of the arm.. There are 2 hooks (as in hook-and-eye) at the gathered waistline for the bodice to attach to the skirt. Back is closed with 5 hook-and-eyes. Slip is 2010.009.043; bodice 2010.009.045 and sash is 2010.009.042.

Ivory, shiny satin (?) wedding dress and slip worn by Ruth Elvebak upon her marriage to Harry Haugland on May 1, 1937 at Anacortes Lutheran Church. Dress has lace bodice front and back with row of leaf-like ruffles around next and bodice. Long sleeves with covered-button closure. On back are 12 covered button closure on lace. small train flows in back. Back waistline has a belt which comes from side seems to a large buckle in back. Long, floor-length veil is disintegrating so will offer back to donor.

Russell was assigned with the "army air corps at Rantoul, Illinois. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Paugh of Shoemake Avenue. She graduated from Modesto High School and was a member of the band and orchestra. The benedict is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Charles Russell of Modesto. He is a graduate of Modesto High School where he played in the band and belonged to the Camera Club. The just weds had a 10 day honeymoon which they spent in Chicago. Wool Army Air Corps jacket belonged Charles James Russell. He wore his uniform during his wedding ceremony to Virginia Paugh on February 10, 1945. Pvt. Russell was stationed at Chanute Field, Illinois about 130 miles south of Chicago. NOTE: All military identifying buttons removed from jacket as this is what the military does when the soldier is discharged. Mass wedding ceremony at Marineers' Pageant 1938, last wedding of the day. (refer to D-II-127, 128, and 129) This was the last ceremony in which Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Spencer were married by Rev. William Goodrow. Paul Luvera ( standing on left) was the acting best man and also the President of the Chamber of Commerce.

This view is of the interior of the Methodist Church on the north side of 8th Street between Q and R avenues. The church is decorated for a wedding. This church was a prominent feature in many photos of Anacortes' skyline during much of the 1900s. The Methodist-Episcopal Church, begun in Anacortes on 6-28-1890, was one of the first churches organized in Anacortes. On 7-3-1890 the ANACORTES AMERICAN reported, "Methodist Church organized in the city." The 1-15-1891 edition reported, "Revival meeting under the auspices of the Methodist Church are now in full swing in Bowman's Hall." Construction of this building began in 1892. The Panic of 1893 slowed construction and the church wasn't complete
