Description The Ladies of the G.A.R. (Grand Army of the Republic), a women's auxiliary group, pose in front of a large American flag. (The G.A.R. was a veteran's group for former Civil War Union soldiers). Several wear the Ladies Membership Badge. The Ladies Dept. encampment was held in Anacortes in 1895, according to Peter Colton, the SV. Commander of the Son's of Union Veterans of the Civil War. Gen. Issac Stevens Camp #1 Dept. of Columbia.
