Description This image from the 1947 Marineer Parade is of an elaborate float sponsored by Anacortes Veneer featuring swans pulling a clamshell with a "queen" inside. Anacortes Veneer Company, a cooperative venture between workers, began at 35th and V Avenue in 1937 and opened in the fall of 1939. See also WF 2014-2045.
