Description Navy drill team marching in parade down Commercial Avenue between 5th and 4th Street heading north. Each man is wearing naval uniform with spats and white "Dixie Cup" hat with a rifle on his right shoulder. There are two drum-majors in dress uniform and cap carrying a septor. This parade is probably during the 4th of July Parade since there are US flags along the roadway and overhead; also the parade watchers are dressed in cool clothing and no jackets. Some of the buildings and businesses shown in this photo are: Platt Building, Dr. Davidson (dentist), Fern Press (408 Commercial, Scott L. Ulmer), Huey's Jewelry, Brown Lantern Tavern (412 Commercial, Axel E. Jorgeson), Kimsey's Foods (414 Commercial, Frank A. and Alice Kimsey), Anacortes Drug Co., Inc. (Mrs. Amy B. Reed, President "The Rexall Store," Drugs, Prescription and Toilet Articles, Cameras and Films, Free Delivery, 418 Commercial, telephone 3221), and Diamond Variety Store (Diamond Five Cent to One Dollar Stores, corner of 5th and Commercial, Edwin Johnson, manager), in Empire Building. People's National Bank is visible in the old Bank of Commerce building (502 Commercial, J. C. Walsh Mgr, James R. Reckers Ass't Mgr, Telephone 5331) at SW corner of 6th and Commercial.
