Caption Anacortes - Mt. Vernon Stage Company
Description The Anacortes-Mt. Vernon Stage was run by brothers Bill and Dave Affleck. The stage or bus was built by the Beck Bus Company which began in 1932 in Sidney, Ohio. The bus company was bought out by Mack Trucks in 1956. The bus deport was located at 1009 8th Street in the annex behind the Wilson Building. The annex was built by Valentine and Wallie (Sr.) Funk in 1926. This view shows the bus at Causland Park. The Affleck Brothers ran the Anacortes-Mt. Vernon Stage Co. from 1924 -1948. Note: license plate is dated 1945, but the image sleeve was dated 1-3-1948. See also WF 2282-2286; WF 4403 is a view of Nes Okerlund who drove buses for Affleck.
