Caption Kiddies' Parade - children in captain's hats
Description The "Juvenile" or Children's Parade of the Marineers' Pageant was usually held on Friday, separate from the big community parade held on Saturday. By 1949 the name changed to Kiddies' Parade. It had special categories of events: best decorated bicycle, best decorated doll buggy, etc. This image is of two girls and a boy dressed in white shirts, pants with stripes down the side, captain's hats, sashes across their chests and around their waists, and with wooden daggers stuck in their waist sashes. The boy, probably Ralph Cole, is pulling a decorated wagon with a young child covered with a sheet sitting in it.
