|Caption||Knight Hawks - Anacortes High School|
The Knight Hawks are posed on the front steps of Columbian School. Four boys were appointed from each class to police the athletic field and gymnasium during all sports events. They also took tickets at all games and plays. According to the 1929 annual, "they also stand on guard against any dead-beats who might try to enter without paying the admission price. Receipts at the gate have increased enormously since this club was formed.... All boys who belong to this club have to have a certain scholastic standing in the school." This image was published in the 1928 annual on page46.
