Caption Capt. Frank Vorhies Hogan
Description Portrait of Mayor/Capt. Frank V. Hogan in his signature top hat, 3-piece pinstripe suit, and holding his cane. His white shirt has a stand-up collar with front edges folded to showcase the white tie. The accessories he is wearing include his wire-framed glasses Medal of some sort on the lapel of his suit jacket, a tie clip and a watch fob. Mr. Hogan brandishes a whte handlebar mustache. Photo-a. was mounted in a paper frame, signed on the front, "Sincerely Yours, F. V. Hogan - 75 years young", and is in sepia. (5"x7-3/4"); Photo-b. is an 8"x10" black and wite photo printed in reverse (facing right); Photo-c. (3-1/2"x4-3/4"), b&w print-Hogan is facing left; and Photo-d. is a black and white print (14-1/2"x20") is mounted on stiff backing board. Captain Hogan was the first Mayor of Anacortes, elected in 1891. In that year he was also president of the Anacortes Chamber of Commerce. See "Biographies" for more in-depth information.
