Catalog Number WF 0140
Description William McCallum started business in Anacortes in 1893 selling shoes. By 1902 he was in the grocery business, and shortly after 1902 he entered the real estate business. In his early years he went through a variety of partners (Norvell, Shock, and Goodwin). What is particularly interesting about McCallum is that his son was instrumental in securing land for Shell Oil when the refinery went in on March's Point in 1953. See oral history files of Wallie V. Funk: WF-OH-1B-131.
