Caption Kiddies' Parade - circus animal trainers
Description The "Juvenile" or Children's Parade of the Marineers' Pageant was usually held on Friday, separate from the big community parade held on Saturday. By 1949 the name changed to Kiddies' Parade. It had special categories of events: best decorated bicycle, best decorated doll buggy, etc. This image is of a two girls dressed as circus animal trainers, riding tricycles and hauling a cage on wheels with what appears to be a stuffed animal inside -- or maybe a lamb or poodle. In the rear, the Pentecostal Assembly of God on the southeast corner of 10th and O is visible with its sign, "Jesus Saves."
