Caption Thornburg's w/employees
Description Promoting Thornburg's Dry Goods, 5th at Commercial Avenue, Anacortes (on the west side of the street). Across the awning is "Thornburg's Dry Goods - Shoes - Clothing - Thornburg's. In the windows, written across the front and side of the store: "DRY GOODS - NOTIONS - FANCY GOODS - FURS - READY MADE GARMENTS- MEN AND WOMEN - CLOTHING - THORNBURG'S". On the sidewalk next to the street can be seen the WCTU fountain, which in 2007 is on the lawn of the Anacortes Museum. The backside of the card says: "Taken when I worked in Thornburgs in Ana-- [signed] Lulu Dodge". In front of the store are 9 people, probably employees. They are left to right: 1-Miss Hodson; 2- Mrs. Johns; 3-Miss Taylor; 4-Dwight Dean or Mr. Chatton; 5-???; 6-???; 7-Leela Dodge; 8-???; 9-Bess Pickens. On 2 windows of the second floor can be seen the word LAWYER; the person's name written before LAWYER cannot be seen.
