Description Two Native Americans, probably from the Samish tribe village on Guemes Island, sitting in a dugout freight canoe used in rivers and bays looking at the southwest corner of Guemes Island from about Ship Harbor in the Guemes Channel. The man on the right, in the stern of the boat, is paddling, while the man in the bow is holding a 2-prong salmon harpoon (on the right end of the harpoon in his hand can be seen the 2-prongs).
