Caption Rosario Beach
Description View of Rosario Beach. This photo has an interesting message on the back. "Mr. and Mrs. Allmond - To whom we are indebted for this wonderful resort's accessibility and comfort. Miss Trolson." These simple words hint at the immense role Douglass and Cora Allmond played in the creation of Deception Pass State Park through his political work and her work in the Washington women's club movement. For more information about them, see WF 1171. For more information on Allmond's role in the creation of Deception Pass State Park, see section on Rosario preceding WF 0587; also see WF 0311, 0312. "Miss Trolson" was probably Josephine Trolson who, in 1922, lived in Anacortes at 703 W Street and worked as the bookkeeper for Robinson Fisheries; for portraits of her see WF 0753, 5430.
