Description Laser copy of photo of 16 formally dressed children wearing roller skates. Note on back: "This skating rink was on the top floor of the old Elks Building (now City Hall). As I recall, the top floor had been a dance hall." Left to right: Bobette Moore, ?, ?, ?, Susan Lowman, Claudia Lowman, virginia Smiley, Lynne Kilbreath, George Swors, Terry Kilbreath, Nancy Heglund, Carla Thayer, ?, Billy Thayer. Dudley Pennick "Minister".

NOTE from Claudia Lowman, 06/22/2011: "The skating event was not a church event. It was something hosted at the skating rink on the second floor of the Anacortes City Hall building. This was a staged mock wedding. Sue and I were in dance classes from the D.C. Celitos (sp?). Perhaps this "performance" had a connection to the dance studio.

I do remember two things: 1.) practicing a routine or pattern of how we were to perform this event by skating to certain points and meeting up with partners down the middle and so on and 2.) that I was sure the adults had "miscast" the bride and I SHOULD have been the bride because I could skate a whole lot better. While I harbored this belief I was still a team player and did what I was supposed to do."
