Caption Kiddies' Parade - pair in blackface
Description The "Juvenile" or Children's Parade of the Marineers' Pageant was usually held on Friday, separate from the big community parade held on Saturday. By 1949 the name changed to Kiddies' Parade. It had special categories of events: best decorated bicycle, best decorated doll buggy, etc. This image is of a female dressed in blackface and eating watermelon. Beside her is a child in blackface eating watermelon with a sign pinned to the shirt saying, "Little Brown Koko". See WF 1712.
