Caption Alaska Packing Company - fish drying racks
Description Web drying racks in rear of Alaska Packing Company cannery at Ship Harbor, built in 1896. In 1901 they canned 103,000 cases, 7,000,000 pounds of salmon according to SEBRING'S SKAGIT COUNTY. Their last year of operation was 1913. In 1932, the ANACORTES AMERICAN reported that the cannery docks at the "lower canneries" at Ship Harbor were being dismantled. See "Admiral Nulton goes ashore in fog," in the 9-29-1932 issue.
