Description Anacortes High School football team on the steps of Columbian School (c.1906). The man standing at upper left, wearing a bowler hat, is Fred Cartwright, school superintendent; he may have been the same man who became the president of Bank of Anacortes (see WF 3637 for more information on the Cartwright family). Players in the top row, left to right: Hi Amsberry, Harry Bell, Vivian Davis. Middle row: Wendell Whitney, unknown, Les Pollis. Bottom Row: Ray Lowman, Howard Stewart, Harry "Doggie" Gillis, Edna Flynn (who was a "girl basketball star"), Paddy Davis, Earl "Deacon" Brown, Harry McLean and Claude "Warhorse" Robinson.
