Seattle paper, September 19, 1946 article reads:
"TACOMA MAN IS WINNER OF "SALMON DERBY" BOAT: Tacoma Junior Chamber of Commerce was notified Monday by the Anacortes Junior Chamber that R. Stinson, 1302 So. 40th St., had won a "Smith-bilt" boat which was given as a door prize at the "salmon derby dance" held recently in the Skagit county city.
The boat will be delivered to the local Junior Chamber, which in turn will make delivery to Sinson"

"TACOMAN WINS BOAT IN DERBY: Jack R. Stinson, 1303 South 40th Street, went to Anacortes over the weekend to visit relatives and came home the owner of a 16 foot fishing boat.
The boat which will be brought to Tacoma Sunday for formal presentation to its new owner, was one of the many awards in the Anacortes salmon derby, sponsored by the Anacortes Junior Chamber of Commerce.
Chuck Thompson, president of the Tacoma Junior Chamber, will welcome a delegation from the Anacortes Chamber upon arrival here Sunday morning to present the boat to Stinson, recently discharged from the coast guard.

"TACOMA MAN WINS BOAT: R. Stinson of 1302 South 40th Street in Tacoma was the winner of the handsome "Smithbuilt" boat given away as the top prize at the Salmon Derby dance held last Saturday evening at the Eagles' Hall.
A large crowd of dancing fans and sports enthusiasts attended the event which acted as a kickoff for the finals of the Junior Chamber of Commerce Salmon Derby on Sunday morning.
