Caption HOLLYWOOD - leading fleet to Alaska
Description Good view of Anacortes shoreline, state ferry dock, and canneries, particularly Northwestern Fisheries Company. The 6-12-1930 ANACORTES AMERICAN reported, "Purse Seiners off for north." The departure of the fleet for the north included the HOLLYWOOD, owned by Captain Rudolph Franulovich, with crew Paul Franulovich, Peter Oreb. Joe Pirak, Dick Molet and others. The boat led the procession from Anacortes for the Alaska fishing grounds along with RIO RITA, SWEET HOME, and PRESIDENT COOLIDGE, a voyage that took six days and nights to cover 1000 miles.
