Caption Kiddies' Parade - "mopheads"
Description The "Juvenile" or Children's Parade of the Marineers' Pageant was usually held on Friday, separate from the big community parade held on Saturday. By 1949 the name changed to Kiddies' Parade. It had special categories of events: best decorated bicycle, best decorated doll buggy, etc. This image is of two girls dressed in bathing suits, with mops on their heads and holding a sign. The lower (visible) part reads, "The Toni". This may be a reference to Toni solution for home permanents.
