Description Bike race during Children's Parade of Marineers' Pageant. Commercial Avenue just south of 4th Street. Buildings visible are, left to right: Empire Building (420 Commercial Avenue), built 1905, with Rexall Drugs on its ground floor (418 Commercial Avenue), NW corner of 5th Street and Commercial Avenue; Nelson Building (414 Commercial), built 1911, with white front and rounded transom windows above awning; unknown building; Platt Building at corner of Commercial and 4th (401 Commercial) built 1890. Note: Platt Building still has its original roofline at this point, chimneys, etc., which would soon be removed. Dybbros Grocery is visible in the McCracken Building on the NW corner of 4th and Commercial (314-320 Commercial built in 1929).
