Caption Kirvin Smith, AHS social studies teacher
Description Kirvin Smith taught history, contemporary world problems, psychology, and economics in his 30 years at Anacortes High School, 1936-1966. He won the Man of the Year award in 1952, and advised the newly organized Key Club in 1940-1941. See the 2-7-1941 ANACORTES MERCURY. He also shared his knowledge with the community. On 5-23-1940, he spoke to the Anacortes Rotary at the Empire Theater, explaining the then-current war situation in Europe and the conditions which led up to it. See the 5-23-1940 ANACORTES MERCURY.
