Caption Brown Bros. burns late 1940s
Description Fire at Brown Brothers Clothing Company, late 1940s. Lloyd and Russell Brown came to Anacortes in 1911 from the Midwest and opened the business. In 1926, Lloyd Brown died suddenly from influenza; his brother Russell continued to run the store alone and in 1948 built a new building for it. Alec (Benny) Morin later purchased the store and owned it through 1986.
