Description This copy work was done for Peter Moen by Brady. It is an image of Nels Moen, Peter's father. Nels Moen came to the United States from Norway with his son, Peter, around 1900. He left behind his wife, Lena, in Norway with several of their children. Nels went to Baker City, Oregon, and started a sawmill there. He repeatedly tried to send for his wife, but she was adamant in her refusal to come to the United States. He went back to Norway to try and persuade her, but she did not want to leave her home in Norway. He returned to the United States and died in Oregon at the age of 47 from a brain tumor. After his death, Lena came to the United States c. 1915 and lived in Marysville, Washington, with her daughter. She died there in 1937.
