Description Robinson's cod schooner, ALICE, near Robinson fisheries. Pioneer Cannery executive, W. F. Robinson played a leading role in the development of Anacortes as one of the nation's foremost fisheries centers at the turn of the century. He established Robinson Cod Fish Co. and Robinson Fisheries. Robinson's earliest operations were carried out at the foot of N. avenue on Guemes Channel , later were removed to a location off Oakes Avenue. One of the more noted schooners operation in the Bering Sea area for Robinson was the "Alice."
