Caption unknown guitarist and dancer
Description This woman dancer is dressed in a beaded top and hula skirt. She has leis around her neck and ankles. Her outfit was quite provocative for that day and reflects the risque entertainment era of the "Roaring 20s." She was probably one of many itinerant dancers who worked vaudeville circuits in small town across the United States, performing in theaters like the Rose and Empire Theaters in Anacortes. Her accompanist, a male guitarist, was a man of Asian, possibly Philippine, descent. These Brady portraits were no doubt intended as publicity photos.
