Description COHOE and Bill Bessner in Guemes Channel. Built in Seattle for the Alaska trade as CAPTAIN BING with a big fish hold forward and a Fairbanks-Morse diesel, the Army took her in WWII. Johnny Planich bought her at auction in 1946, renamed her to use as a fish-buyer for Fisherman's Packing Corp. Bill Bessner was skipper from 1950 to his retirement in 1976. She sank in Alaska in 1983 one week before Bill Bessner died at age 93.
