|Description||William "Bill" Wells graduated from Anacortes High School in 1934 where he was active in Key Club, orchestra, Glee Club and "Chonita." The son of William Virgil and Verna Wolverton Wells, Bill was born April 23, 1918 and died April 1, 1998 in Anacortes. A charter member of the high school Key Club, he continued his membership throughout his life with the Noon Kiwanis Club. Bill graduated from the University of Washington law school in 1940, served with the U. S. Army from 1942-46, and became a partner in his father's law firm. He worked as the Anacortes city attorney for 29 years as well as serving as president of the Chamber of Commerce and as a member of the Fidalgo Island Youth Foundation and the Anacortes Senior Center Advisory Board. In addition to Kiwanis, Bill was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge and the Order of Eastern Star. On January 16, 1943, Bill married Barbara Mae Blake and they had two daughters, Diane Wells Musgrove and Marilyn Wells Derig.|
