Caption Children's Parade - bride
Description The "Juvenile" or Children's Parade of the Marineers' Pageant was usually held on Friday, separate from the big community parade held on Saturday. It had special categories of events: best decorated bicycle, best decorated doll buggy, etc. Most of these images (WF 1393.001-.023) appear to have been taken at or near where the parade was staged or ended: The Texaco Station on the northeast corner of Commercial and 9th, and the Union Oil Station on the southeast corner of Commercial and 9th. This image is of a girl dressed as a bride. The Marshall-Wells store in visible in the Van Buren building on the northwest corner of Commercial and 9th. This business was not listed in the 1940 or 1962 directories, but was listed in the 1948 and 1954 directories. To the right is Jack's Radio and Appliance, which was not listed in the 1940 or 1954 directories. At far right is the Wilson Building.
