|Description||Al Sellenthin was the Anacortes Chief of Police from 1923-1933 and lived with his wife Alwina at 1319 8th Street through the 1948 city directory. In 1937 he was listed as Police Judge and Justice of the Peace. "Judge" Sellenthin, as he was known, did needlepoint for relaxation and created an impressive banner for the Lions Club, of which he was a charter member. He was one of the few older men to join the Lions, and he served as sort of a father figure to the younger men. Sellenthin ran for Skagit County Sheriff a number of times; it is unknown if he won. He also was an avid hunter.|
