Caption Voitus Furniture - "Fair" display
Description Voitus Furniture had a "Fair" display at an unknown event, but the decoration of corn stalks suggest a harvest-type festival in the autumn of 1937; it may have been the Summit Park Harvest Festival. Voitus Furniture, owned by Charles Voitus, was located at 1012 5th between O and Commercial, the 2009 site of Anacortes Cinema. Voitus Furniture began c. 1907 and had advertisements in the April 1907 ANACORTES AMERICAN. By 1948 Charles had died and his widow Anna was listed at 701 K Avenue, with the furniture store being run by Clare Hansen. The building was demolished in 1992. See Wallie Funk's photos of the demolition of the building. See also WF 2433.
