Caption Coos Bay Pulp Company picnic - Weaverling Spit
Description Coos Bay Pulp Corporation was located in Anacortes from c. 1947 - c. 1961 at 17th and R Avenue, directly south of Morrison Mill. The picnic appears to have been held at Weaverling Spit picnic grounds. The sign on the tree in the photo reads, "Anacortes Local 196, IBPS and PM Workers." Also see WF 1702. For possible views of the Coos Bay Christmas Party, see WF 1045-2056; these were filed with the mill photos as the images were discovered at the end of the Funk project.
