Caption RUMSEY, Gladys
Description Gladys Rumsey graduated from Anacortes High School in 1933 where she was active in drama, basketball, Home Ec Club, Girls' Athletic Club, and Art club. The 1937 city directory listed her living with her parents at 2001 11th Street. She was the daughter of James and Nellie Rumsey, and probably the sister of Lorene. James Rumsey ran a wood business in Anacortes. The 1921 city directory advertised, "Rumsey, J. L. Wood delivery. Dealers in light and heavy wood, prompt delivery to any part of the city." The family lived at 1420 10th Street in 1921, and by 1929 had moved the 11th Street address. In the 1948 directory James was a millworker at Coos Bay Pulp.
