Caption Children's Parade - East Asian costume
Description The "Juvenile" or Children's Parade of the Marineers' Pageant was usually held on Friday, separate from the big community parade held on Saturday. It had special categories of events: best decorated bicycle, best decorated doll buggy, etc. Most of these images (WF 1393.001-.023) appear to have been taken at or near where the parade was staged or ended: The Texaco Station on the northeast corner of Commercial and 9th, and the Union Oil Station on the southeast corner of Commercial and 9th. This image is of a boy in East Asian dress pushing a doll buggy with laundry (or clothes for sale?). The clothes are pinned to a line on top of the buggy. Good view of Texaco Station in rear.
